Bias and Civil Right Training,
Dear Community Members,
As the second most diverse community in New Jersey, we pride ourselves for living in Franklin Township which sets a great example for mutual respect and unity. However, diversity also brings challenges especially when there are conflicts overseas, such as those in Ukraine and the Middle East, or during election in our nation. During these times, relationships between some community members may be strained or some residents may be victims of bias or hate incidents based on their race, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation. Sometimes those who are victims of bias, hate crimes or bigotry do not know their civil rights or how or who to report the incident.
Franklin Township Interfaith Council, in collaboration with Homeland Security with the support of Human Relations Commission, QIDMA, and NAACP has arranged for a Bias and Civil Right training on July 31, 2024.
Location: Senior Citizen Center, 505 Demott Lane, Somerset
Time: 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Dinner will be served.
Join us to learn about bias, civil rights and impact of bias and hate crimes on mental health. Please see the attached flyer. RSVP is required by July 26, 2024.
